What is PNC-27?
PNC-27 combines a p53 fragment with a cell-penetrating sequence. Published in-vitro work reports selective membrane disruption of transformed cell lines expressing membrane HDM-2, with normal cell lines used as controls.
Mechanism of action
A p53 residue 12-26 segment fused to a penetratin motif that binds HDM-2 in cancer-cell membranes, causing membrane pore formation in vitro.
Primary research areas
Oncology cell-line studies, HDM-2 membrane biology, selective necrosis models.

- Used as a mechanistic probe of membrane-bound HDM-2 rather than a metabolic compound.
