What is ACE-031?
ACE-031 is a fusion of the extracellular domain of activin receptor IIB with an Fc region. In published research it binds myostatin and related ligands before they reach the receptor, making it a standard tool for probing the myostatin signalling axis.
Mechanism of action
Acts as a decoy receptor sequestering myostatin and related TGF-β family ligands in muscle-mass research models.

Research notes
- Non-selective across several TGF-β family ligands, an important consideration in study design.
- Distinct from GH-axis secretagogues, which act upstream of IGF-1 rather than on myostatin.
