What is MGF?
MGF is the E-domain peptide of the IGF-1Ec splice variant expressed after mechanical loading or damage in skeletal muscle. Research use focuses on its role as a local, short-lived signal upstream of satellite-cell recruitment, separate from systemic IGF-1 receptor signalling.
