What is AOD-9604?
AOD-9604 is a 16-amino-acid synthetic fragment based on the C-terminus of human growth hormone (residues 177-191) with an added tyrosine. In laboratory research it is studied as a putative lipolytic agent that engages adipose β3-adrenergic and HSL pathways without binding the GH receptor.
Mechanism of action
C-terminal hGH fragment hypothesised to mimic the lipolytic domain of growth hormone without affecting IGF-1.
Primary research areas
Adipose lipolysis, fat-metabolism and body-composition research.
Research notes
- Does not raise IGF-1 in published rodent work — useful as a GH-axis-sparing lipolytic probe.
